The Mission

Muskingum Behavioral Health has been a pillar of the community since they were first established back in 1981. They work to improve the lives of individuals and the community as a whole by combating the effects of substance abuse and mental illness. Their mission is to provide person-centered recovery and wellness services to individuals in need.

With their core values–Empowerment, Leadership, Recovery, and Quality–they offer compassionate counseling, prevention and recovery services, and Medication-Assisted Treatment programs along with many other services. Individuals in the community in need of help are welcomed with open arms and given the assistance they need to get healthy again.

Serving the Community

There are a few essential ways the team at Muskingum Behavioral Health works to take care of the community. For one thing, they work to treat those who are currently struggling with mental and behavioral health by offering countless services. Individuals in need can find services like counseling for alcohol and substance abuse, mental health counseling, recovery housing, outpatient programs, and gambling addiction rehab.

However, they know the work doesn’t end there, which is why they also put just as much emphasis on education, outreach, and prevention. They work with schools and juvenile centers to get in touch with the young people most in need of support. With a focus on education, they offer programs and health fairs to teach young people how important it is to remain safe.

They engage in events like National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® to help local teens learn about the dangerous impacts of these substances and to improve their lives.
