Step One: Make Your Budget

When you’ve decided to get your next car, the first thing you need to do is make a budget. A budget will help you narrow down your options and let you know if you should consider taking out a loan.

If you decide to obtain a loan, plan to put down 10%. Also, make sure that your monthly expenses for your car payment, insurance, and other vehicle expenses don’t exceed 20% of your monthly budget.

Step Two: Figure Out the Right Vehicle for You

Determine the type of vehicle that works best for you. Are you looking for a family car? Consider a van or an SUV that fits the whole family.

Do you drive a lot? Opt for a hybrid to lower your monthly gas expense.  

Take into account your work, commute, hobbies, and potential passengers when deciding what kind of vehicle you need.

Step Three: Begin Researching

Check out the vehicles in the area. Our used car inventory includes plenty of used cars to choose from, including certified pre-owned Hondas. You can check out our inventory online or come by in person.

Many dealerships and private sellers now post vehicles online for you to look at. Our dealership includes additional information about our used cars, like photos, descriptions, history reports, and more.

Step Four: Test Drive and Check Vehicle History Report

When you find a vehicle that you like, a good thing to do is check out the vehicle history report. Many used cars have history reports that give you information about the car’s past. This can include accident records, how many owners the car has had, and if the vehicle is a salvage.

If you’re comfortable with the car’s history, take it for a test drive! Test drives are a great way to get a feel for how the car drives and if you enjoy driving it. While you’re in the vehicle, you can also test out the features, such as the radio and the air conditioning.

Step Five: Get Financing Squared Away

Once you’ve found the vehicle that you want to purchase, apply for financing—which you can do at our dealership. You can use our online credit application or you can apply in person with a member of our finance team.

Step Six: Negotiate and Close the Deal

You've found your next car and you’ve got the financing in place. Now, it’s time to negotiate. Work with the seller to determine a price that you’re both happy with. Then, go over the final deal sheet, including the information you need to know before closing the deal.

Then, all that’s left is to accept and close the deal.

Step Seven: Enjoy Your Used Car!

The deal is closed, the paperwork is signed, and the car is yours! Enjoy it and drive away knowing that our dealership and service center are here for you.
