Honda HR-V Safety: Getting Familiar With Honda Sensing®

If you’ve driven a Honda vehicle previously, you may have been introduced to Honda Sensing®. After all, it’s been helping individuals and their passengers drive safer since 2014.

However, as technology has advanced, so have the ways Honda uses it inside their vehicles. Below, we’ve created an overview of the Honda Sensing® suite as it pertains to the 2022 HR-V.

The HR-V offers two assistive systems to help you stay in the correct lane.

The first is the Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM). RDM detects if you cross lane lines without signaling and can provide steering assistance to guide you back on track. The second—known as the Lane Keeping Assist System—works by subtly adjusting your steering when your hands are on the wheel to keep you centered in your lane.

Other Honda Sensing® features include the Collision Mitigation Braking System™(CMBS™). In the event of an unavoidable frontal collision, CMBS™ will automatically apply brake pressure to help bring your HR-V to a complete stop.

If we step into the interior of the cabin, you’ll notice an available 7-inch display with a high-resolution touch-screen. It comes equipped with a multi-angle rearview camera. Three separate angles—normal, top-down, and wide—provide an excellent view of anything hiding behind your vehicle.

Speaking of Honda’s 7-inch display, did you know that it—as well as the standard 5-inch display—comes standard with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration? This feature makes it easier than ever to connect your smartphone to your HR-V. Plus, with audible text messages, you’ll be able to keep your focus on the road ahead.

Exterior Safety Measures of the Honda HR-V

Not only is the Honda HR-V’s exterior eye catching, it’s also quite practical, resulting in the ideal combination of beauty and brains.

For example, the HR-V is engineered with Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure. This exclusive body design enhances passenger protection as well as crash compatibility in frontal collisions.

ACE™ gives the HR-V a sturdy foundation to showcase additional safety measures, like the optional automatic high-beam headlights. When driving at night, this system—if switched on—will automatically turn on the high beams when no vehicle is detected ahead.
