Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4

The first place we’ll look is under the hood of the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V, taking power, handling, and reliability into consideration.

To start, we have the Honda CR-V, which sports an in-line 4-cylinder engine apable of producing 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. While the engine configuration is comparable, the standard 8-speed automatic transmission offered by Toyota provides less of a chance to customize seamless driving. Although an electronic CVT is available, you’ll have to choose a higher trim to receive it. Plus, the aforementioned performance features are lacking as well.

In addition, the Honda CR-V offers 39.2 cubic feet of cargo room with the second-row seats standing as well as a total of 75.8 cubic feet of cargo room with those seats folded down.

This helps it outperform the Toyota RAV4, which offers 37.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 69.8 cubic feet with the second-row seats down.

The Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4 each come with dashboard-mounted display screens within their respective cabins.
